The Tampa Bay Lightning fought tooth and nail throughout 60 grueling minutes in Saturday's home loss but an early mistake turned out to be the difference as the Hawks claimed a 2-1 victory and now head back to Chicago with a 3-2 series lead. The Bolts have been in this position before though as they fell behind against the Red Wings in the first round and if there is a team who has shown resiliency all season it is Tampa and with their season and Cup aspirations on the line you can bet they will come out with their best game of the series. However, it still may not be enough as these Hawks will be motivated to win on home ice and with Ben Bishop and Nikita Kucherov both battling injuries it might prove difficult for the Lightning to get a win in hostile territory.
The Blackhawks can win their first Cup on home ice in over 70 years with a win tonight and with the way they have been playing in this series it will be tough to bet against them. Chicago has grown into a dynasty over the last 10 seasons and with the era of the salary cap and the amount of parity we have seen in the major sports since the turn of the millennium we are witnessing one of the great franchises re-emerge as a league power house and a win tonight will continue to write a spectacular script. Chicago has celebrated in Boston and Philadelphia of late but now I think they get to share the celebration with the Mad House in what should be another exciting contest that should stay under the number and possibly go to overtime.
