The Oilers look for their first win of the season as they return to Edmonton for their home opener against the St. Louis Blues.
The Blues look to complete the Alberta sweep after downing Flames in Calgary on Tuesday night and they will turn to Brian Elliott in their quest to do so as he will go up against Cam Talbot. The Blues are one of the best teams in the league and already have a win under their belt against the Oilers but they know in Edmonton's home opener and the home side's first look at Connor McDavid that they will be hyped up. St. Louis needs to harness the momentum from their impressive win over the Flames and if they can take the crowd out of it in the first period they have a great shot at doing so.

The Oilers meanwhile are winless on the season with road losses to the Blues, Predators, and Stars but they have actually played pretty well considering and drew three potential playoff teams in the first three contests. Things don't get any easier here as they get the Blues again but this time they are at home and will be ready to play in front of the Rexall Place crowd. Offensively, the Oilers are on par with the Blues but it is the defensive game that needs to step up for Edmonton and if the back end can step up and give Talbot something to play behind than Edmonton has a great chance at getting the win as a home dog. Getting two wins in Alberta as a road team is very tough and even though it's early in the season I think the energy from the crowd will be the difference here.
