The St. Louis Blues and Winnipeg Jets meet early Sunday afternoon at the MTS Centre.

The St. Louis Blues look to keep the puck rolling after a solid and quick 4-1 start to the year. The St. Louis Blues are averaging 3.4 goals per game and are scoring on 20 percent of their power plays. Alexander Steen leads St. Louis with three goals, Vladimir Tarasenko has four assists and Paul Stastny has 10 shots on goal. Defensively, the St. Louis Blues are allowing 2.4 goals per game and are killing 85 percent of their power play chances. Brian Elliott has allowed six goals on 68 shots faced and Jake Allen has given up six goals on 53 shots. Elliott has allowed three or more goals in five of his last eight regular season outings. Kevin Shattenkirk and Paul Stastny are questionable.

The Winnipeg Jets also look to remain hot after an impressive 4-1 start to the year. The Winnipeg Jets are averaging 3.6 goals per game and are scoring on 25 percent of their power plays. Blake Wheeler leads Winnipeg with three goals, Andrew Ladd has three assists and Dustin Byfuglien has 15 shots on goal. Defensively, the Winnipeg Jets are allowing 1.8 goals per game and are killing 84.2 percent of their power play chances. Ondrej Pavelec has allowed six goals on 94 shots faced and Michael Hutchinson has given up six goals on 62 shots. Pavelec has allowed two or less goals in six of his last 10 regular season outings. Ben Chiarot is questionable.

The Blues are 1-4 in their last 5 vs. Central and 4-1 in their last 5 vs. Western Conference. The Jets are 1-4 in their last 5 vs. Western Conference and 4-1 in their last 5 overall. The Blues are 5-2 in the last 7 meetings in Winnipeg and 7-2 in the last 9 meetings overall.

Both teams have gotten off to a strong start and this should be a good game. However, the Jets are at home and I'm sure would like to pick up the rare victory over the Blues to keep their strong start going. I'm siding with the home team in this toss-up.
