The Islanders look for their fifth win in a row on Friday night as they welcome the Boston Bruins to the Barclay's Center.
The Boston Bruins appeared to be on their way back to relevance after a hot start but a home stand in which they have gone 0-3-1 so far this season has them reeling and sitting near the bottom of the Atlantic division standings with another tough match up on tap tonight. The B's fell by the way side last year missing out on the playoffs and after some departures in the offseason expectations were bleak coming in and after an overtime loss to the Flyers in which they held a 4-2 lead in the third period it is clear they are not the juggernaut we once knew. Boston will hope to continue their road success with another win here in New York but the Isles are among the league's best and are on fire right now. Tuukka Rask will suit up and go head to head with Jaroslav Halak.

The Islanders meanwhile look like the team many expected to see in the preseason as they are cruising along in the Metro division and are 4-1-1 on the year putting them two points back of the Rangers with two games in hand. The Isles made the playoffs last season and have high hopes for this season as they have a great core of players and added some much needed depth and it shouldn't come as a surprise to not only see them back in the playoffs this year but competing for an Eastern Conference title. Halak is an underrated goaltender and gives the Isles a shot to win every night and against a slumping Bruins team the Isles are the play here.
