NHL Daily Updates: Checking in on the Latest News, Daily Schedule and More
October 26, 2015
We’re coming off a three-game day in the NHL, and heading into another three-game set this evening. While we’re getting settled in for those matchups, let’s visit the headlines from around the league and see what’s happening out there.
Drew Stafford, RW, Winnipeg Jets: The Jets started out great against the Wild last night at MTS Centre, but things got interesting in the third period. The team would end up squeaking by on a 5-4 win, thanks to Stafford’s two goals and teammate Blake Wheeler’s two assists. Andrew Ladd and Bryan Little each added a goal and a helper of their own.
The Jets were up to a 5-1 lead in the second period, but had to withstand a flurry by Minnesota, who falls to 5-2-1 with the loss. The Jets share that record as well.

Antti Raanta, G, New York Rangers: Things started out pretty sketchy for the Rangers last night, when they fell behind 1-0 early to the Flames at Madison Square Garden. They’d score the next four unanswered goals, however, en route to a 4-1 win.
Raanta provided 22 saves in relief of Henrik Lundqvist, while Oscar Lindberg and Dan Girardi each scored and shared star status here.
The Rangers are 6-2-2 in the early-going here, and need to keep it up if they want to match last year’s Presidents’ Cup effort of 113 points.
Jonathan Quick, G, Los Angeles Kings: Quick kept his team in the game last night against the Oilers, and the result was a 3-2 win at Rexall Place. He’d come up with 26 saves on 28 shots, while Tanner Pearson broke the tie in the third with the game-winning goal.
Quick snagged a rebound on the goal line in this one, preserving a tight win in a game of inches. That brings the Kings to 5-3-0; they’re on a five-game win streak after dropping their opening three matchups.
