The Penguins and Capitals renew hostilities as two of the best in the East meet up in DC at the Verizon Center.
The Pittsburgh Penguins had a ton of hype surrounding them coming into the regular season after they acquired Phil Kessel from the Toronto maple Leafs and while they have had moderate success up to this point it is clear they are among the league's most prolific offenses. The Pens have traded wins and losses this season sitting at 4-4 on the year which has them sitting in sixth place in the Metro division but they can earn some big ground with a victory here against their arch rivals in what is another show down between Sidney Crosby and Alex Ovechkin. Marc-Andre Fleury will get the call in the Penguins crease as he will go up against Braden Holtby.

The Capitals meanwhile have won five games in a row after splitting their first two games and are looking like a team hell bent on breaking their playoff futility streak as they are playing some of the league's best hockey. Washington is all to familiar with the Penguins and while their fire has dwindled a bit over the last few seasons it is bound to pick up this year as both teams look destined for the postseason and with some familiar faces on the Washington blue line that was once on the other side of this rivalry it makes things even more interesting. This should be a great game to watch and while the Pens have the offense to compete with anybody I think this is Washington's game to lose and Holtby makes the difference in the end.
