The Ducks look to win back to back games for the first time this season as they welcome the Panthers to town who are coming off an overtime loss.
The Panthers head into Anaheim on Wednesday night looking to flex their defensive muscles against the low scoring Anaheim Ducks as the Eastern Conference's best defensive team goes to work in front of Roberto Luongo. The Cats have looked very impressive this season despite not having the complete set of results to back it up and a large part of that goes to the immediate success that last year's Calder Trophy winner Aaron Ekblad has brought to the team. Ekblad, the former Barrie Colts defenseman, has completely changed the Florida blue line and when the team brought back Roberto Luongo to man the crease long term they put themselves back in the mix in the Eastern Conference. However, they catch a Ducks team coming off their best win of the season in what some are calling the break out game for the one time Western contenders and that could spell trouble for the Panthers.

Anaheim was a trendy pick in the preseason to win the Stanley Cup this year but an abysmal start has them in a bind as they are 2-7-2 on the year, are second to last in the league standings, and have a league worst 14 goals scored in 11 games. The Ducks have the roster to be competitive and have been getting some off the charts goaltending from Frederik Andersen but they haven't been able to generate results and as such they are on the cusp of a complete fire sale which would be a shame considering how talented the team is. I am a big fan of this Panthers team and we will cash in on them a lot this year but this just seems like an awful spot and I think the Ducks go to work again and get the victory.
