The Line: Colorado Avalanche / New York Rangers --- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Rangers look to claim their fourth win in a row on Friday as they head into Colorado to battle the struggling Avalanche.
The New York Rangers bowed out of the Eastern Conference final last season to the Tampa Bay Lightning a year removed from losing in the Cup final against the Kings but this year they look like they are trying to put all of that to rest. The Rangers head into Friday night's contest with Colorado sitting with an 8-2-2 record putting them in a tie with the Washington Capitals for top spot in the Metro division and are looking like a serious contender once again this season. The Blue Shirts will look to Henrik Lundqvist as they often do and the Swedish national continues to prove he is one of the world's best as he has a miniscule 1.88 goals against average and a 6-2-2 record. He will go up against Reto Berra who doesn't have the record of some of the better goaltenders but has looked sharp in limited action this season.

The Avalanche are off to a slow start despite having a pretty solid line up and in the Central division getting behind the eight ball is never a smart idea if you have playoff aspirations. Colorado sits in last place in the division and are already 11 points back of the first place Dallas Stars and while they can make up ground they will have to do so in a hurry as other teams are starting to find their stride. Colorado is just 2-4-1 at home this season and against the Rangers who are 2-1-1 in four road games this season they will need to play well in order to even earn a single point. I don't see that happening though as New York is too good and at a reasonable price we need to take them here.
