The Xcel Energy Center and the Minnesota Wild welcome the Tampa Bay Lightning to town Saturday.
Some early scoring and great play between the pipes spurred the Tampa Bay Lightning to a 4-1 win at Buffalo Thursday for win number seven in a row versus the Sabres. Jack Eichel scored in the second period for Buffalo but Linus Ullmark was touched for three first period tallies before Chad Johnson took over in the nets to begin the second. Nikita Kucherev, Steven Stamkos, Tyler Johnson and Victor Hedman supplied the offense for the Bolts while Andrei Vasilevskiy brushed aside 30 shots to give Tampa Bay their second win in three contests.

A late Nashville goal sent the Minnesota Wild to a 3-2 defeat at the Xcel Energy Center on Thursday night. The loss was even more costly for the Wild who lost star forward Zach Parise to a lower body injury which is expected to sideline him for an extended period of time. Marco Scandella and Matt Dumba lit the lamp for Minnesota with Devan Dubnyk logging 21 stops in absorbing the loss which was the first at home for the Wild. The Predators won it on Cody Hodgson’s tally with 5:21 remaining in regulation with Roman Josi and Mike Fisher also finding the back of the net to make a winner of Pekka Rinne and his 27 save performance.
