The Buffalo Sabres visit the Tampa Bay Lightning and Amalie Arena on Tuesday.
The Buffalo Sabres will be looking for consecutive victories after knocking off visiting Vancouver 3-2 on Saturday. Not many expected the Sabres to come out on top but a late goal by Rasmus Ristolainen with less then 17 seconds remaining in regulation to win it which was his second of the game. Jamie McGinn also scored the other Buffalo goal while Linus Ullmark picked up the win with a 35 save performance. The Canucks received goals from Chris Higgins and Henrik Sedin but former Buffalo netminder Ryan Miller allowed all three goals on 22 shots as Vancouver has dropped two straight.

The Minnesota Wild rebounded from their first home loss of the season to edge the Tampa Bay Lightning 1-0 on Saturday at the Xcel Energy Center. The Lightning offense was silent although it wasn’t for a lack of effort as they fired 31 shots at Wild goalie Devan Dubnyk who was up to the task to lift his team to 8-3-2. Jared Spurgeon scored the game’s only goal on an assist from Charlie Coyle. On the flip side Tampa Bay has dropped six of eight with their potent offense of a season ago being stuck in the mud with a mere three times in the six defeats. Ben Bishop was strong between the pipes with a 24 stop effort which was nothing but a loss with the Lightning struggling to light the lamp.
The under is 2-0-2 in Sabres last 4 vs. a team with a losing record and is 2-0-2 in Sabres last 4 overall while going 2-0-2 in Sabres last 4 when their opponent scores 2 goals or less in their previous game. The under is 4-0-1 in Lightning last 5 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game and the Lightning are 0-5 in their last 5 Tuesday games while the under is 6-1-1 in Lightning last 8 overall. The Sabres are 0-4 in the last 4 meetings in Tampa Bay and are 0-7 in the last 7 meetings while the under is 12-3-2 in the last 17 meetings. Tampa has done well in this match up but their lack of scoring scares me…
