The Philadelphia Flyers make the trip to the Canadian Tire Centre to challenge the Ottawa Senators.
The Philadelphia Flyers have gotten off to a slow start so seeing a San Jose squad who they don’t beat at home wasn’t the thing they wanted to see. The Wells Fargo Center crowd went home disappointed with their team on the wrong end of a 1-0 decision in overtime. Melker Karlsson scored with 1:15 remaining in the extra session to give the Sharks win number four in a row. Martin Jones was airtight between the pipes with 34 stops to lift SJ to 11-8-0. Philadelphia received 20 stops from Steve Mason who fell to 6-8-5 after suffering back to back defeats.

The Columbus Blue Jackets found themselves in the wrong place at the wrong time in a 3-0 on Thursday versus the Ottawa Senators at the Canadian Tire Centre. The Blue Jackets had been playing well with three consecutive victories but even a strong 26 stop performance wasn’t enough to save Columbus who fell to 7-13-0. The Senators received a pair of tallies and an assist from Erik Karlsson in the second while Kyle Turris scored an empty netter to seal the win and halt a three game slide. Craig Anderson brushed aside 25 shots to record his first shutout of the season to lift the Senators to 9-5-5.
The Flyers are 2-10 in their last 12 overall and the under is 19-4-3 in Flyers last 26 when their opponent allows 2 goals or less in their previous game while the Flyers are 3-12 in their last 15 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of less than .400. The Senators are 4-0 in their last 4 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400 and are 0-5 in their last 5 Saturday games while going 0-4 in their last 4 when their opponent scores 2 goals or less in their previous game. The under is 7-2 in the last 9 meetings and the Flyers are 7-21-4 in the last 32 meetings in Ottawa while the home team is 20-8 in the last 28 meetings. I’m still waiting for goalies but Philadelphia does have a hard time here…
