The Verizon Center and the Washington Capitals welcome the Colorado Avalanche Saturday.
The Colorado Avalanche have dropped back to back games following a 4-3 defeat at the Consol Energy Center and the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Pens offense was the highlight of the game with Evgeni Malkin, Chris Kunitz, David Perron and Sydney Crosby each lighting the lamp. Marc-Andre Fleury recorded 28 saves to lift the Pens to 12-7-0 record. Matt Duchene paced the Colorado attack with a pair of tallies with Tyson Barie also finding the back of the net but Reto Berra was charged with all four goals on 30 shots as the Avs lost consecutive contests and fell to 7-11-1.
