The BB&T Center and the Florida Panthers welcome the Washington Capitals on Thursday.

The Capitals moved in to the top spot in the Metropolitan with the win thanks to goals from Justin Williams and Alex Ovechkin before Evgeny Kuznetsov and TJ Oshie scored in the SO. Braden Holtby turned in another strong performance between the pipes with 21 stops to pick up the victory. Florida Panthers vs. Washington Capitals - 12/10/15 NHL Pick, Odds, and Prediction

USA TODAY Sports

The Florida Panthers never got their offense going in a 4-2 loss to the Ottawa Senators at the BB&T Center on Tuesday night.  A red hot Mike Hoffman notched his 11th goal in eleven games for the Senators while Kyle Turris, Zach Smith and Jean-Gabriel Pageau also lit the lamp. Mark Stone logged three assists to make Craig Anderson’s 25 saves a winning performance as the Sens upped their record to 15-8-5. Reilly Smith and Logan Shaw both scored for the Panthers with Roberto Luongo absorbing the loss with 19 saves as Florida dropped their second straight and sit at 13-11-4.

The over is 2-0-2 in Capitals last 4 vs. Eastern Conference and the Capitals are 6-0 in their last 6 vs. Eastern Conference while the over is 2-0-2 in Capitals last 4 vs. Atlantic. The under is 3-0-1 in Panthers last 4 when their opponent allows 2 goals or less in their previous game and  is 4-1-2 in Panthers last 7 vs. a team with a winning % above .600 while Florida  are 1-4 in their last 5 home games. The Capitals are 22-7 in the last 29 meetings and the home team is 14-5 in the last 19 meetings while Washington  are 5-2 in the last 7 meetings in Florida. I lean Washington but want to see if Holtby is confirmed…
