The Bridgestone Arena and the Nashville Predators welcome the rival Colorado Avalanche to town.
The Colorado Avalanche have struggled at the Pepsi Center and that trend continued in a 4-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Avalanche fell to 4-7-1 on home ice as the Penguins scored three times in under a 3:30 span of the final frame. Beau Bennett was the big gun with a pair of tallies while Patric Hornqvist scored the game winner and added an assist. Matt Cullen also scored and Marc-Andre Fleury recorded 24 stops for the win that lifted Pittsburgh to 15-10-2. The Nashville Predators were whacked 4-1 in Chicago Tuesday but returned the favor with a 5-1 rout of the Blackhawks on Thursday night at Bridgestone Arena. The Predators received a pair of goals from James Neal with Craig Smith, Filip Forsberg and Eric Nystrom also lighting the lamp. Pekka Tinne was strong in the nets with a 35 save performance to raise Nashville to 15-9-4. The Blackhawks lone goal came off the stick of Patrick Kane that cut the deficit to 3-1 and was the 24th straight game where he earned a point but nobody else was able to solve Rinnes and Scott Darling gave up four goals on 33 shots as the Blackhawks record dipped to 15-10-4.
The Avalanche are 1-5 in their last 6 when their opponent scores 5 goals or more in their previous game and the over is 5-1-1 in Avalanche last 7 Saturday games while Colorado are 8-2 in their last 10 vs. Central. The Predators are 0-5 in their last 5 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game and are 0-4 in their last 4 games following a win while the under is 2-0-2 in Predators last 4 when their opponent scores 2 goals or less in their previous game. The over is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings in Nashville and the home team is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings while the Avalanche are 2-9 in the last 11 meetings in Nashville. The trends point to Nashville but I need to see goalies…
