We’ve got another relatively quiet night ahead of us in the NHL, with just five games on the schedule. While we’re getting set for those, let’s visit our daily wrap-up and see which players are in the headlines this morning.

Marek Zidlicky, D, NY Islanders: The Islanders posted a great effort yesterday at Barclays Center, ending up with a 4-0 victory over the Devils. Zidlicky scored twice on three shots, while Thomas Greiss pitched the shutout on 27 saves.
The Islanders currently have a 10-game point streak, and they’ve had some close calls in that span. Overall, they’re 18-8-5 and playing well recently.

Semyon Varlamov, G, Colorado Avalanche: Varlamov had a busy night against the Blues yesterday. He put up 42 saves on 43 shots, helping the Avs to a 3-1 victory at Scottrade Center.
Over the last two games, Varlamov has managed 76 saves on 79 shots, winning two Central Division road matchups.
As for the Blues, they’re 17-10-4 thus far, but couldn’t solve the Avalanche who sit at 14-16-1.

Corey Crawford, G, Chicago Blackhawks: While we’re talking about great goalie performances, let’s visit Crawford. He had a shutout on 30 saves last night at home against the Canucks, leading his team to a 4-0 victory.
Patrick Kane extended his epic points streak to 26 games; that’s the longest in the league since the 1992-93 season.
