The United Center and the Chicago Blackhawks play host to the Colorado Avalanche.
The Colorado Avalanche look to continue their recent surge away from the Pepsi Center when they visit the Windy City on Tuesday. The Avalanche won their 4th road game in five contests by defeating St Louis 3-1 at the Scottrade Center on Sunday. John Mitchell and Jack Skille scored in the first period with Carl Soderberg finding the empty net with less the 22 seconds remaining to make a winner of Semyon Varlamov who recorded a season high 42 stops to lift the Avs to 14-16-1. The Blues totaled plenty of shots but only Vladimir Tarasenko was able to elude Varlamov. Jake Allen recorded 13 saves to absorb the loss as St Louis fell to17-10-4.

The Chicago Blackhawks continued to ride the hot goaltending of Corey Crawford in a 4-0 victory versus the Vancouver Canucks at the United Center on Sunday. The offense was none too shabby with Duncan Keith, Brandon Mashinter, Dennis Rasmussen and Andrew Shaw each scored and Patrick Kane added an assist for a25 game point streak. Crawford brushed aside 30 shots for his second straight shutout and 4th of the season as the Blackhawks improved to 17-10-4. The Canucks sent plenty of rubber at Crawford but simply ran in to a hot netminder while Ryan Miller allowed three goals on 29 shots with Vancouver falling to 11-12-8.
The under is 5-0 in Avalanche last 5 road games and is 4-0 in Avalanche last 4 vs. Central while going 5-0 in Avalanche last 5 vs. a team with a winning record. The under is 4-0-3 in Blackhawks last 7 when their opponent allows 2 goals or less in their previous game and is 5-1-1 in Blackhawks last 7 in the fourth game of a 4-in-6 days situation while going 4-1-3 in Blackhawks last 8 vs. Western Conference. The Avalanche are 4-0 in the last 4 meetings in Chicago and the road team is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings while the under is 3-1-2 in the last 6 meetings. No line or goalie are out but I’m looking at the under…
