The Hurricanes squandered a three goal lead in the third before Victor Rask’s wrist shot won it in the extra session. Justin Faulk, Andrej Nestrasil, Kris Versteeg and Phillip Di Giuseppe also lit the lamp while Eddie Lack gave up four goals on 29 shots to get the win and lift the Hurricanes to 12-14-4. The Philadelphia Flyers offense was nowhere to be found and the defense couldn’t hold the fort in a 3-1 defeat at American Airlines Center versus the Dallas Stars on Sunday. The Flyers scored first courtesy of Shayne Gostisbehere but it was all downhill from there with a monster 41 stops from Michal Neuvirth still not enough to prevent the Flyers from falling to 12-12-6. The Stars saw Antoine Roussel and Mattias score with Jamie Benn adding an empty netter to make a winner of Jamie Benn and his 19 stops that upped the Stars record 22-5-2 including a 5-0-2 mark in the past seven contests.
The over is 4-0-3 in Hurricanes last 7 vs. a team with a losing record and is 4-0-2 in Hurricanes last 6 road games while going 7-0-4 in Hurricanes last 11 overall. The under is 4-0-1 in Flyers last 5 games playing on 3 or more days rest and the over is 3-0-1 in Flyers last 4 vs. Eastern Conference while going 1-0-3 in Flyers last 4 home games vs. a team with a losing road record. The under is 4-0-2 in the last 6 meetings and the over is 5-2-2 in the last 9 meetings in Philadelphia while the Hurricanes are 4-10 in the last 14 meetings in Philadelphia. I’m a Philly fan and that’s how I lean until I see goalies…
