The Columbus Blue Jackets invade the Gila River Arena to face the Arizona Coyotes.
The Columbus Blue Jackets never found their offense and the defense couldn’t contain the high powered Dallas Stars in a 5-1 defeat at the American Airlines Center Tuesday. Scott Hartnell scored on a second period power play to tie the game 1-1 but that was it for the Blue Jackets who surrender three straight goals to trail 4-1 heading to the third. Rookie netminder Joonas Korpisalo allowed four goals on 27 shots with Curtis McElhinney coming in and giving up a goal on seven shots. The Stars received two goals from Tyler Seguin, while Alex Golgoski, Johnny Oduya and Mattias Janmark also scored with Kari Lehtonen getting the win with a 34 save effort.

The Arizona Coyotes offense couldn’t overcome defensive lapses in a 5-4, overtime loss to the Carolina Hurricanes at the Gila River Arena on Saturday. The offense played well with Anthony Duclair scoring twice with Kyle Chipchura and Connor Murphy joining him in the scoring column. That wasn’t enough however with Anders Lindback charged with all five goals on 33 shots. The Hurricanes almost blew a three goal lead before Victor Rask saved them with his tally 53 seconds in to the extra session. Justin Faulk, Kris Versteeg, Phillip Di Giuseppe and Andrej Nestrasil also lit the lamp for the canes with Eddie Lack getting the win with 25 stops
The under is 4-0 in Blue Jackets last 4 following a loss of 3 or more goals and the Blue Jackets are 0-4 in their last 4 in the fourth game of a 4-in-6 situation while the Blue Jackets are 0-5 in their last 5 overall. The Over is 4-0-3 in Coyotes last 7 vs. Metropolitan and the Coyotes are 4-0 in their last 4 games playing on 3 or more days rest while the over is 9-1-1 in Coyotes last 11 vs. Eastern Conference. The home team is 8-2 in the last 10 meetings and the Blue Jackets are 1-4 in the last 5 meetings in Arizona. No goalies have been announced but I see this as a coin flip for now…
