We’ve got a very busy evening of NHL action ahead of us, with a whopping 11 games coming up on the schedule. While we’re waiting, let’s check out some of the notable players and stats out there in our daily wrap-up.

Braden Holtby, G, Washington Capitals: Holtby had a great defensive game last night against the Senators at Verizon Center, helping his team to a 2-1 win with 26 saves.
Michael Latta scored and had an assist, while John Carlson provided the other goal for the Caps.
Washington has at least one point in nine of their past ten (8-1-1), and Holtby’s 20 wins are tops in the league.
Overall, the Capitals are 22-6-2 and sitting pretty in first place in the Eastern Conference with 46 points.

Tuukka Rask, G, Boston Bruins: Rask had a nice game last night as well, pitching the shutout with 34 saves in a 3-0 victory over the Penguins at TD Garden.
Jimmy Hayes (who also had an assist), Max Talbot and Ryan Spooner (empty-net) each had a goal.
Rask seems to be over his bumpy start. He’s 7-0-2 in his past nine outings and 12-7-0 overall with a 2.44 GAA and .917 save percentage thus far.
As for the Penguins, they continue to slide. They’ve lost five o six games and are now sitting at 15-12-3.

Let’s check out a couple of Rangers injury notes before we sign off today. Neither Kevin Klein nor Derek Stepan is expected to take the ice tonight, but both guys could be back tomorrow.
Klein (oblique) and Stepan (ribs) practiced yesterday and appear to be getting very close.
