The Line: St. Louis Blues -175 / Calgary Flames +155 --- Over/Under: 5 See the Latest Odds
The Flames look for their eighth win in a row and take sole possession of second in the Pacific as they head into St. Louis to battle the Blues.
The Calgary Flames were one of the league's biggest disappointments after the first month of the season and many had them finishing at the bottom of the Pacific division after their slow start but thanks to a seven game winning streak and a lackluster division the Flames are back in the playoff hunt and have looked very good over the last two weeks. Calgary has defeated some pretty good teams along the way including the Dallas Stars twice and now have a chance to spoil the party for another Western Conference contender in the St. Louis Blues who have won back to back games and sit in second place in the Central. Karri Ramo is expected to get the call as the Flames are 5-9-2 on the road this season while Brian Elliott will counter for the Blues who are 10-6-2 at home.
USA TODAY Sports
The Blues have quietly put together a strong start to the season but they have been overlooked thanks to Dallas' red hot start, and the point streak of Patrick Kane but heading into tonight's game they are 19-10-4 on the year and trail Dallas by six points for the Central division lead. St. Louis has a great roster and while they have had to deal with some injuries thus far they should be considered a playoff contender in the ultra competitive Central division and their play at home is one to be feared though they have dropped eight of 18 so far at Scottrade. The Flames are red hot and while they have taken down some great teams I don't think they match up well at all here and I think the Blues get the best of them in what should be a pretty entertaining contest.
