The Pepsi Center and the Colorado Avalanche host the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday.

The Toronto Maple Leafs dominated the Los Angeles Kings 5-0 at the Air Canada Centre on Saturday night. Jonathan Bernier broke an 0-8-2 start to the season in the process with victory number one on the strength of his 10th career shutout. Bernier had plenty of help from his offense with Michael Grabner scoring twice and logging a pair of helpers while Leo Kamarov also scored two times and added assist while rookie Byron Froese scored his first career goal to help the Maple Leafs up their record to 11-13-7. The Kings fell to 20-10-2 with the loss going to Jhonas Enroth who was charged with all five goals on 34 shots.

Colorado Avalanche vs. Toronto Maple Leafs - 12/21/15 NHL Pick, Odds, and Prediction

USA TODAY Sports

The Colorado Avalanche had not been exactly tearing it up in the early stages of the season but might be turning things around aver they dominated the Edmonton Oilers at both ends of the ice for a 5-1 victory at the Pepsi Center on Saturday night for win number five in a row. Tyson Barrie, Blake Comeau, Nick Holden, Jack Skille and Jarome Iginla all lit the lamp in support of Semyon Varlamov and his 39 saves for the 17-16-1 Avalanche. The Oilers didn’t score until 2:58 of the third on Andrej Sekera’s tally that cut the Avs lead to 3-1 but they would get no closer with Anders Nilsson allowing all five goals on 29 shots.

The over is 2-0-3 in Maple Leafs last 5 when their opponent allows 2 goals or less in their previous game and  is 3-0-2 in Maple Leafs last 5 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game while going  2-0-3 in Maple Leafs last 5 overall.  The Avalanche are 4-0 in their last 4 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game and  are 4-0 in their last 4 games following a win while the over is 4-0 in Avalanche last 4 after scoring 5 goals or more in their previous game. The over is 5-0 in the last 5 meetings in Colorado and the road team is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings. No goalies are confirmed but I lean Colorado in some form…
