December 23, 2015
The NHL arenas will be dark for the next three days, with no games until Saturday. That said, we can still get our hockey fix by checking out our daily wrap-up and see who’s in the news right now.
Jake Allen, G, St. Louis Blues: Allen was able to record a shutout yesterday at TD Garden, helping the Blues over the Bruins 2-0. He made saves on all 32 shots that came his way.
Vladimir Tarasenko scored another goal here, giving him 22 on the year with a seven-game points streak. In that time he has six scores and five helpers.
The Blues have won four of five and are sitting at 21-11-4 right now.

Derick Brassard, C, New York Rangers: The Rangers came into last night’s game against the Ducks at the Garden on an ugly slide. They were able to get past Anaheim in overtime, however, bagging a 3-2 victory that will provide a lift into the break.
Brassard bagged two goals and an assist, while teammate Mats Zuccarello had a goal and an assist.
New York had been on a three-game losing streak prior to this, and are now 20-12-4 on the year. They’ve won just four of their past 15 efforts.
Kyle Palmieri, RW, New Jersey Devils: The Devils were able to score three goals in the first period of last night’s matchup against the Red Wings at Joe Louis Arena. They hung on for an eventual 4-3 win.
Palmieri put up a score and a helper, while Cory Schneider put up 25 saves in net. This was just the Devils’ second victory at Joe Louis Arena since Nov. 6, 1996. It ends a three-game losing streak for them this year.
The Devils are currently 17-13-5.
Joe Pavelski, C, San Jose Sharks: The Sharks and Kings played a very important divisional game last night at Staples Center, and the Sharks got the victory 5-3.
Pavelski snagged two goals and an assist with four shots on goal, while Jose Thornton put up a score and two helpers with four shots as well.
Pavelski leads the team with 18 goals. The Sharks are 17-15-2 overall and are within six points of the Kings in the division.
