The Xcel Energy Center and the Minnesota Wild host the Buffalo Sabres in Tuesday action.
The Buffalo Sabres are in big time need of a winning streak and perhaps Sunday’s 4-2 victory at the MTS Centre and the Winnipeg Jets is the start. The win put a halt to a six game slide and raised the Sabres record to 16-22-4. Sam Reinhart was the offensive star with his first ever hat trick with Marcus Foligno also lighting the lamp. Linus Ullmark was strong between the pipes with a 42 save performance. Winnipeg received goals from Mathieu Perrault and Blake Wheeler with Bryan Little logging a pair of helper. Connor Hellebuyck was charged with three goals on 28 shots as the Jets fell to 19-20-3 and own last place in the Central.

Defense was the name of the game as the New Jersey Devils picked up a 2-1 win on Sunday at the Xcel Energy Centre versus the Minnesota Wild. Adam Henrique and Jon Merrill each picked up goals for New Jersey with Corey Schneider getting the win with a 17 save effort that ended a three game skid to lift the Devils to 21-17-5 record. Minnesota’s lone goal came off the stick of Zach Parise with Darcy Kuemper recording 15 stops as the Wild have faltered at home lately with defeats in three of four on their home ice. Minnesota fell to 22-12-8
The Sabres are 0-4 in their last 4 Tuesday games and the over is 3-0-1 in Sabres last 4 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game while going 5-0 in Sabres last 5 when their opponent scores 2 goals or less in their previous game. The under is 4-0 in Wild last 4 when their opponent allows 2 goals or less in their previous game and the Wild are 4-0 in their last 4 Tuesday games while the under is 7-1-3 in Wild last 11 vs. Atlantic. The Sabres are 0-4 in the last 4 meetings and the road team is 11-4 in the last 15 meetings. I’m leaning Wild but need goalie confirmation…
