The Senators head into Anaheim on Wednesday night looking to grab a big win against the Ducks who have started to piece things together in the Pacific division.
The Senators look to get back in the win column and begin their ascent up the Atlantic division standings as they head into Anaheim to battle the Ducks in a contest that looks destined to be a low scoring affair. The Sens have had trouble scoring over the last few weeks and as such they are in a 3-6-1 spiral that has them in sixth place in the Atlantic division and while they are still in the mix for a playoff spot they need to start playing with more conviction in a hurry. Ottawa is a minus twelve in terms of goal differential at the moment which has them as the fifth worst group in the Eastern Conference and for a team that has Craig Anderson in goal and Erik Karlsson on the blue line that stat is unacceptable.

The Anaheim Ducks meanwhile have started to right the ship on what was one of the biggest disappointments through the first half of the season as they went from being a Cup favourite to possibly landing a lottery pick. However, Anaheim is in a decent position right now as they are in fifth place in the Pacific division but are just five points out of second place and with the talent they have on their roster it wouldn’t come as a surprise to see them land home ice in the first round. The Ducks are 11-7-4 at home while the Sens are 9-11-2 on the road which should set up a close affair between low scoring teams and while the side offers some nice value I think the best play is on the under.
