The NHL continues its busy weekend today with seven more matchups on the schedule. Before we get set for all that action, let’s take a look at some of the notable players in today’s headlines.

Mats Zuccarello, RW, New York Rangers: Yesterday’s early game was a thriller, with the Rangers taking a 3-2 shootout win over the Flyers in Philly. Zuccarello posted the winning goal in the shootout, and Henrik Lundqvist had 34 saves.
Lundqvist now has 20 wins on the season, which makes him the first NHL goaltender with 11 20-win seasons straight to start a career.

Brian Elliott, G, St. Louis Blues: Elliott was a busy guy last night against the Canadiens at Scottrade Center.
He posted 46 saves on 49 shots en route to a 4-3 overtime victory, capped by Jori Lehtera’s game-winning goal. Lehtera also had an assist.
Tomas Plekanec had nine shots with one goal and one assist for the Canadiens.
As for the Blues, they’re now 26-15-7 on the season. Montreal is 23-18-4.

Carter Hutton, G, Nashville Predators: Hutton snagged a shutout yesterday at Bridgestone Arena against the Wild, stopping all 29 shots that came his way. It was his first shutout of the year and third of his career.
Roman Josi and Eric Nystrom each scored in this one, earning star honors. The Predators sit at 20-17-8 and had lost five games in a row coming in. This was their first Central Division win since December 19.

Marc-Edouard Vlasic, D, San Jose Sharks: Tomas Hertl posted an overtime game-winner 1:12 into the extra period last night against the Stars at SAP Center, and he also had an assist en route to a 4-3 win.
Vlasic scored twice on five shots and had a helper here. Oddly enough, it was the Sharks’ first win in 13 games at SAP Center this year when allowing the first goal.
As for the Stars, they fall to 29-12-5.
