The Oilers look to rebound after their loss in Tampa Bay on Tuesday night as they continue their road trip in Dallas on Thursday night.
The Edmonton Oilers look to grab another victory against one of the league’s best on Thursday as they head into Frisco, Texas to take on the Stars in a show down of two teams at opposite ends of the Western Conference ladder. The Oilers have been a team in transition for years now and while they have suffered some set backs along the way it has to be frustrating for everyone involved that they haven’t been able to break through and be a competitive team. This season is a bit different though as they have shown some fight and some nights look like a legitimate playoff team but in the end they remain in the basement of the Pacific division and are six points out of the playoffs. Cam Talbot will likely get the call as he will go up against Kari Lehtonen.

The Stars have lost their perch atop the Western Conference thanks to a mini speed bump and a ridiculous surge from the Chicago Blackhawks but they have a great chance at closing the gap here with a home date against Edmonton. Dallas is 29-13-5 this season but are enduring their worst stretch of the season as they are just 2-6-2 in their last 10 contests and could very well end up losing home ice by the end of the weekend. Dallas is loaded offensively though and that should be enough to carry them here in a game that I see going over the total.
