We’ve got six games coming up in the NHL tonight, so it’ll be a pretty solid evening of hockey action. For now, let’s check out some of the notable players and stats in the news in our daily wrap-up.
Mike Hoffman, LW, Ottawa Senators: The Rangers are flailing these days, and the latest team to take advantage was Ottawa yesterday.
Hoffman put up a goal and an assist with five shots in a 3-0 shutout win. Craig Anderson had 35 saves to help the team end a two-game losing skid. It was his third shutout of the season and 32nd of his career.

Kris Versteeg, RW, Carolina Hurricanes: Versteeg had a great outing yesterday against the Flames. He posted two goals on five shots, resulting in a 5-2 victory in Raleigh.
Joakim Nordstrom also scored, and Eddie Lack put up 33 saves on 35 shots.
The Hurricanes move to 22-20-8 on the year, while the Flames fall to 21-22-3. Karri Ramo was chased in this one after allowing three goals on 19 shots.
Corey Crawford, G, Chicago Blackhawks: Crawford continued his strong run yesterday at United Center, logging 25 saves in a 2-0 shutout win over the Blues.
Crawford now has seven shutouts on the year, and that leads the NHL. He made 12 saves in the first period alone.
Rookie Artemi Panarin put up another goal in this one, scoring late in the second. Patrick Kane bagged an assist on that score for his 73rd point, which leads the league.
The Blackhawks are 33-15-4 on the year, and 30-4-2 when scoring the first goal.
Marian Gaborik, RW, Los Angeles Kings: In last night’s late game, the Kings snagged a 32-victory over the Sharks at SAP Center.
Gaborik scored at 4:06 in overtime to secure the win. It was his second overtime goal this year.
Drew Doughty and Vincent Lecavalier also scored, while Jhonas Enroth put up 30 saves. The Kings are now 30-15-3 and playing well these days.
