The NHL is easing up a bit today, following a busy return from the All-Star break last night. While we’re waiting on tonight’s three matchups, let’s check out some of the key stats and players in the news right now.

David Schlemko, D, New Jersey Devils: Schlemko scored on a power play with just under nine minutes left in the game last night, leading the Devils to a 3-2 victory over the Rangers in Newark.
Cory Schneider made 31 saves here, and the Devils crawled back from being down 1-0 and 2-1.
Both teams were without top forwards. Rick Nash and Mike Cammaleri were both sidelined.

Steve Mason, G, Philadelphia Flyers: Last night at Wells Fargo Center, Mason posted 30 saves to help the Flyers to a 4-2 victory over the visiting Canadiens.
On the offensive side, Wayne Simmonds bagged two goals and Jakub Voracek had three assists.
Philly was up 2-1 after the first period, but the Canadiens fought back to tie it up heading into the third on a Jeff Petry goal. Simmonds and Matt Read scored in the third to put the game away for good.

Sidney Crosby, C, Pittsburgh Penguins: Crosby led a strong offensive effort by the Penguins last night, edging the Senators 6-5 in a crazy game at Consol Energy Center.
Crosby scored three times and added an assist, while Chris Kunitz helped out with a score and two assists of his own.
David Dziurzynski scored at 15:50 of the third (his first of the year) to get the Sens within one, but they couldn’t tie it up.

Tyler Seguin, C, Dallas Stars: Seguin earned first-star honors last night at MTS Centre with a two-goal effort against the Jets.
Jjohn Klingberg added a pair of assists in what would become a 5-3 win for Dallas.
Dustin Byfuglien would get Winnipeg within one on his 15th goal of the year in the third at the 10:14 mark, but Antoine Roussel scored late in the period to seal the victory.
