The NHL is exploding tonight, with 12 matchups on the evening slate. Let’s check out some of the notable headlines in our daily wrap-up before we get settled in for those games.

Henrik Lundqvist, G, New York Rangers: Lundqvist had a nice evening against the Devils last night, accounting for 27 saves on 28 shots. The result was a 2-1 Rangers win at Madison Square Garden.
Kevin Klein and J.T. Miller each scored for the Rangers, who had 37 shots on the evening.
That’s three straight wins for the Rangers, who are starting to gain some steam as the season winds down.

Sidney Crosby, C, Pittsburgh Penguins: Crosby went off last night against the Ducks, tallying two goals and two assists in a 6-2 victory.
Pittsburgh scored three times in the opening period and twice in the third to finish the job.
Chris Kunitz scored a goal and had an assist for the Pens, who are now 27-18-7 with 61 points on the year.
Meanwhile, the Ducks sit at 57 points and a 25-19-7 record.

Pavel Datsyuk, C, Detroit Red Wings: Datsyuk took care of most of the offense last night for Detroit against the Panthers at Joe Louis Arena. He scored twice in a 3-0 shutout.
Petr Mrazek stopped all 23 shots that came his way, and the Red Wings scored three times in the third period to pull away late.
That gives Detroit a 27-18-8 record with 62 points; The Panthers are 31-16-6 with 68.

Mark Stone, RW, Ottawa Senators: Speaking of offense, Stone was pouring it in against the Lightning last night at Canadian Tire Centre. He scored twice and had an assist in a 5-1 victory.
Craig Anderson saved 31 of 32 shots, and Jean-Gabriel Pageau had two assists and a goal.
The Senators have 56 points thus far with a 25-23-6 record. The Lightning, meanwhile have 62 points at 29-19-4.
