We’ve got a heavy NHL schedule coming up tonight, and there’s plenty to go over in the meantime. Let’s check out some of the notable players and stats out there in the headlines.
Ryan Miller, G, Vancouver Canucks: The Canucks edged the Coyotes last night at Gila River Arena in Glendale, thanks to a strong effort from Miller. He snagged 33 saves on 34 shots in a 2-1 victory. Jannik Hansen scored the eventual game-winner in the second period with assists from Henrik Sedin and Chris Tanev. It was Hansen’s 16th goal of the season so far.
The Canucks move to 22-20-12 with the win (56 points) and the Coyotes are 24-23-6 (54 points).

Petr Mrazek, G, Detroit Red Wings: The Red Wings were part of another close win last night, this one at Joe Louis Arena against the Senators.
Mrazek posted 22 saves on 23 shots in the 3-1 victory, while Danny DeKeyser, Henrik Zetterberg and Darren Helm each recorded goals.
Zack Smith scored for the Senators on a power play in the third; it was his 12th of the year.
The Red Wings are now 28-18-8 with 64 points; the Sens sit at 25-24-6 with 56 points.
Henrik Lundqvist, G, New York Rangers: Rounding out the goaltending trifecta last night was Lundqvist, who recorded a shutout against the Penguins at Consol Energy Center.
He posted 34 saves in the 3-0 win, getting help on offense from Kevin Hayes, Dominic Moore and Jesper Fast, who each had a goal.
The Rangers have 67 points at 31-18-5; the Penguins aren’t too far behind at 27-19-7 and 61 points.
According to a news story this morning, the 2017 NHL Draft will take place in Chicago. The league is expected to make the official announcement at some point today.
