The Line: Vancouver Canucks -170 / Toronto Maple Leafs +153 --- Over/Under: 5 See the Latest Odds
The Maple Leafs to salvage a win in their final trip in Western Canada on Saturday as they take on the Canucks in Vancouver.
The Toronto Maple Leafs were dealt their second loss in as many nights in Edmonton on Thursday night as Connor McDavid put up a career five points in what was a complete domination by the Oilers in a revenge game after a loss in Toronto earlier in the year. The Leafs head into Saturday’s game sitting in dead last in the league standings which puts them on the inside track to land the top overall draft pick in the off season but with plenty of time left until the regular seasons ends there is a lot that could change, especially if Toronto makes some moves at the trade deadline. The Buds have lost three in a row and are 3-5-2 in their last 10 contests and while the Canucks haven’t had the type of season many expected they are in the mix if a playoff race and will be desperate for a victory.

The Canucks head into tonight’s game sitting in fourth place in the Pacific division and are four points back of the Ducks for the third and final playoff spot out of their division which at this rate looks like it might be the only way in for teams on the West coast. Vancouver was expected to have a bit of a regression this season but I don’t think anyone envisioned they would miss the postseason but if they can’t catch fire and improve on their -18 goal differential it will be very difficult for them to get in to hockey’s second season. Ryan Miller will get the call as he goes up against James Reimer and while this is a spot where the Canucks should get a victory I am not sold on them and with Reimer back in for Toronto and some sense of pride being questioned I think Toronto responds and plays a solid team game tonight.
