The Canadiens look to shake off yet another loss as they return home from Colorado to host the Flyers on Friday night.
The Philadelphia Flyers had a mid season surge that had many expecting they would soar into the Eastern Conference playoffs but they have since cooled off and are now battling tooth and nail for a wild card spot as we approach the final stretch of the season. The Flyers sit in seventh in the Metropolitan division but are only seven points out of a playoff spot and with around 25 games left and the trade deadline around the corner we could very well see the Flyers load up for one last push with this group and if things fall through then readjust in the off season. The Flyers are a good team but have some holes at the back end and some inconsistencies in the crease despite a pretty good campaign from Michal Neuvirth and if they can address those concerns then they are right in the fold with some of the others in the East.

The Canadiens meanwhile have been a nightmare since mid-November and while there is still a good chance they can sneak into the playoffs thanks to a fast start to the season thigns don’t look good as they are sinking fast. The Canadiens are in sixth place in the Atlantic and are sitting at .500 on the season which is a far cry from where they were at Halloween and with Carey Price not slated back any time soon the Habs continue to be on auto fade and that’s where we are at again in this spot. Philly is the better team in the standing and whether it is home or away for Montreal right now it doesn’t seem to matter. Take the Flyers.
