The NHL is easing up a bit tonight after a busy evening; we’ve got just four games up ahead. In the meantime, let’s check out some of the notable players and stats in the news right now.
Sergey Kalinin, C, New Jersey Devils: The Rangers had a 2-1 lead heading into the second period last night at Prudential Center against the Devils, but New Jersey scored twice in the second and twice in the third to cruise to a 5-2 victory.
Kalinin bagged a goal and an assist, while Kyle Palmieri put up his 23rd goal of the year. Joseph Blandisi assisted on each second-period goal.
The Rangers fall to 34-20-6 (74 points), while Jersey is 30-24-7 (64 points).

Cam Ward, G, Carolina Hurricanes: Even though the Flyers outshot the Hurricanes 37-18, Carolina still came up with a 3-1 victory at PNC Arena in Raleigh last night.
Ward had 36 saves here, while Joakim Nordstrom, Jordan Staal and Eric Stall each scored a goal. It was Jordan’s 16th of the season and Eric’s 10th.
The Flyers sit at 26-22-11 and 63 points; the Hurricanes are 28-23-10 with 66 points.
Frans Nielsen, C, NY Islanders: Nielsen bagged his 17th and 18th goals of the year last night at Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul during a 4-1 win over the Wild.
Jaroslav Halak came up with 30 saves here, while John Tavares also scored. It was his 23rd of the year and came on a power play.
The Isles move to 32-19-7 with 71 points, and the Wild are 27-23-10 with 64 points on the season.
John Klingberg, D, Dallas Stars: Klingberg was in a generous mood last night at MTS Centre in Winnipeg. He snagged three assists in a 5-3 Stars victory over the Jets.
Jamie Benn scored twice in the third period; he now has 32 goals on the season. Jason Spezza got one in the first period; it was his 19th of the year.
The Stars move to 38-17-6 and 82 points; the Jets have 54 points at 25-30-4.
