We’ve got a big 10-game schedule coming up in the NHL tonight, so there will be plenty of action out there on the ice. In the meantime, let’s take our daily look at some of the notable players and stats in the news.

Frederik Andersen, G, Anaheim Ducks: Andersen got himself a shutout last night at Honda Center in Anaheim. he made 26 saves in a 1-0 victory over the visiting Sabres.
Sami Vatanen scored the lone goal here on a power play. It was his ninth of the season, assisted by Ryan Getzlaf and Hampus Lindholm.
The win brings the Ducks to 32-19-8 (72 points), and the Sabres are 24-30-7 on the season with 55 points.

Gabriel Landeskog, LW, Colorado Avalanche: Landeskog had a nice game last night at Pepsi Center. He scored a goal and had an assist, helping his team to an eventual 4-3 victory in a shootout over the visiting Sharks.
Landeskog’s goal broke a 2-2 tie in the third, but Joel Ward tied it up at 18:29 and sent the game to extras.
The Sharks fall to 32-21-6 with 70 points, and the Avalanche improve to 32-27-4 with 68 points overall.

David Pastranak, LW, Boston Bruins: Pastranak scored twice last night at TD Garden in Boston, helping his team to a 5-1 victory over the Penguins.
Tuukka Rask also had a good game, making 41 saves on 42 shots.
The Bruins didn’t blow this one open until the third period, when they outscored Pittsburgh 3-0.
Boston is now 33-22-6 with 72 points, and the Pens have 68 points at 30-21-8.

Alex Galchenyuk, C, Montreal Canadiens: Galchenyuk scored his 15th and 16th goals of the season last night, helping the Canadiens to a 4-3 victory over the Capitals at Verizon Center.
Montreal was up 4-1 at the end of the second, but the Caps scored twice in the final period to make a game of it.
The Canadiens are 29-27-5 with 63 points; the Caps are 44-11-4 with 92 points.
