We’re coming off a busy NHL evening, and there are five more games to look forward to tonight. While we’re waiting on those, let’s check out some of the notable stats and players in the news.

Sam Gagner, C, Philadelphia Flyers: Gagner, Mark Streit and Pierre-Eduoard Bellemare each scored a goal last night against the Wild, leading to a 3-2 victory at Wells Fargo Center.
The Wild scored twice in the second (Thomas Vanek and Mikael Granlund provided the goals) but were shut out for the rest of the game.
With the win, the Flyers are 27-22-11 at 65 points, and the Wild are 27-24-10 with 64 points.

Nick Foligno, LW, Columbus Blue Jackets: Foligno bagged a hat trick (and an assist) last night against the Devils, helping lead the Jackets to a dominant 6-1 victory at Nationwide Arena in Columbus.
The Jackets had a 3-0 lead after the first period, and a 5-1 advantage after the second.
Matt Calvert and William Karlsson each put up three assists. Brandon Saad scored his 23rd goal of the year here as well.
The Jackets are now at 25-29-8 with 58 points; the Devils have 67 points at 30-25-7.

Henrik Lundqvist, G, New York Rangers: It’s no secret the Rangers rely heavily on Lundqvist, and they did again last night. He posted 35 saves on 36 shots in a 2-1 win over the Blues at Scottrade Center in St. Louis.
Chris Kreider scored the game-winner at 4:18 in the third; it was his 12th of the year, with Oscar Lindberg and Kevin Hayes assisting.
The Rangers have 76 points at 35-20-6; the Blues have 79 at 35-19-9.

Pekka Rinne, G, Nashville Predators: Rinne had a nice game last night as well, tossing out 38 saves on 39 shots at United Center in a 3-1 victory.
The game was tied going into the third, but Calle Jarnkrok and Miikka Salomaki scored late in the game to pull the Preds away. Brent Seabrook scored for the Blackhawks.
Chicago is now 38-20-5 with 81 points; the Predators are 30-21-11 with 71.
