The Canadiens face an absolute must win at home against their arch rivals from Toronto on Saturday night at the Bell Centre.
The Toronto Maple Leafs head into Montreal on Saturday night looking to play spoiler and send the Habs faithful home disappointed in another installment of this bitter rivalry. The Buds have had a tough year on the whole but it was to be expected as a full overhaul has started and with another top end draft pick on the horizon and a handful of prospects ready to make the jump the Leafs are going to stay the course and wait for their time to shine again. However, in the mean time things are going to be painful and a gruelling process and in match ups against teams like Montreal who are desperate for points they may be in tough. However, the Leafs should find a way to get up for this one and while I would be more excited with James Reimer in the crease it is Jonathan Bernier getting the nod as he will face off against Mike Condon.

The Montreal Canadiens have undergone an historic fall from grace as they went from a league powerhouse and Eastern Conference leaders to struggling to stay above .500 and battling for a wild card spot in what has been a season to forget for the bleu, blanc, et rouge. Montreal still has a shot at grabbing a wild card spot in the Eastern Conference but without Carey Price and some pieces already out the door they could become sellers very quickly and as such a playoff spot is a glimmer of hope. However, this is a game the Habs absolutely must win for their psyche and playoff chances as a home loss to their arch rivals who sit dead last in the East would be the final straw in a disappointing campaign.
