We have eight games coming up tonight on the NHL schedule, with quite a bit of playoff implications in there. Let’s get ready for tonight’s slate by checking up with our daily look at the league headlines and big-name players.
Jakob Silfverberg, LW, Anaheim Ducks: Silfverberg bagged a hat trick last night at Honda Center in Anaheim. He also notched an assist in a dominant 7-1 victory over the Devils.
Both Ryan Kesler and Andrew Cogliano had a goal and two assists, as the Ducks scored four times in the second and three times in the third.
Anaheim is now 38-21-9 for 85 points; the Devils have 73 points at 33-30-7 on the year.

James Neal, LW, Nashville Predators: Neal scored once in each period last night at Rexall Place, helping the Predators edge out the Oilers 3-2.
On the season, Neal now has 26 goals. Jordan Eberle also scored in the first for the Oilers. He has 21 goals on the year.
The victory brings Nashville to 35-22-13 with 83 points; the Oilers have 61 points at 37-38-7 thus far.
Kris Versteeg, RW, Los Angeles Kings: Last night, the Kings went into United Center and showed the league why they’re one of the best squads out there.
L.A. scored twice in the first and twice in the third en route to a 5-0 victory over the Blackhawks. Versteeg scored once and added an assist. Jonathan Quick recorded the shutout with 32 saves.
The Kings have 87 points at 41-22-5; the Blackhawks are at 88 with a 41-23-6 record.
Michael Frolik, RW, Calgary Flames: Frolik got himself a hat trick last night at Scotiabank Saddledome against the visiting Blues. He scored two shorthanded goals in the 7-4 victory, while Sean Monahan added a pair of scores and an assist himself. Each team scored twice in the first and third periods, but Calgary won the second 3-0.
The Flames are 29-35-5 with 63 points. The Blues are stuck at 91 points with a 41-21-9 record.
