The NHL is back once again tonight with four more big playoff matchups on the schedule. Before we get into those, let’s take our daily look at some of the notable players and stats in the headlines.
Vladimir Tarasenko, RW, St. Louis Blues: Last night at United Center, we got another tight game between the Blues and Blackhawks. St. Louis emerged victorious in this one with a 4-3 game to take a 3-1 lead in the series.
Tarasenko was great here, logging three points on two goals and an assist. Brian Elliott survived 42 shots, stopping 39 in the victory.
Game 5 is tomorrow in St. Louis, and the Blues can close things out.

Frederik Andersen, G, Anaheim Ducks: The Ducks went into Nashville last night trialing 2-0 in the series against the Predators. Anaheim got some momentum back in the series with a dominant 3-0 victory, thanks to Andersen’s 27 saves. Chris Stewart also scored and had an assist.
Andrerson had a scary moment after taking a puck to the head, but he ended up being okay to finish the game.
Matt Murray, G, Pittsburgh Penguins: The rookie Murray had a lot of help in front of the net last night against the Rangers at Madison Square Garden, but when shots did get through he stopped them.
Murray logged 16 saves on 17 shots in a tight 3-1 Penguins victory, which puts Pittsburgh up 2-1 in the series.
The Pens outshot New York 31-17 here and got the game-winner from 39-year-old Matt Cullen.
Nikita Kucherov, RW, Tampa Bay Lightning: Kucherov has been electric in this series against the Red Wings, and he put up two goals with an assist in a tight 3-2 victory at Joe Louis Arena last night.
Tampa scored once in each period, with Jonathan Drouin assisting on each goal. As for Kucherov, he’s got five goals in this series so far, which the Lightning lead 3-1.
