The Wild look to keep their playoff hopes alive as they head into Dallas trailing 3-1 in their opening round series with the Stars.
The Minnesota Wild played their way back into the series with a pivotal game three victory against the Stars but that pipedream was squashed in a game four loss that has them on the brink of elimination on the road in a tough building for visitors this season. The Wild do have a nice roster but are really missing Zach Parise in this series as he is not only an offensive leader but an emotional leader for this group and without his presence the team has stumbled and face a stiff challenge as they have to win three of their next four against the top seed in the Western Conference. Devan Dubnyk will get the call in the Minnesota crease as he will face off against Kari Lehtonen who continues to play very well in the Dallas crease.

The Stars were criticized coming into this series as many thought they didn’t have the talent on the back end to be a Cup contender but they are proving the skeptics wrong as they are a win away from the second round and have yet to see Tyler Seguin suit up. Dallas is loaded in the offensive zone and while it is Jamie Benn leading the way as expected they are getting a ton of secondary scoring as the likes pf Patrick Sharp and Cody Eakin have stepped up and have spotted the Stars a 3-1 series lead. Dallas is the better team here and while they may not have the star power on the blue line they certainly have it in the offensive zone and I expect them to come out swinging and leave no doubt they are Cup favourites.
