The Blackhawks stayed alive thanks to a double overtime goal from Patrick Kane and now they return home to host the Blues in game six.
The Chicago Blackhawks staved off elimination for one night and now have a chance to play their way back to even terms and net their first win of the playoffs on home ice. The Hawks dropped both games three and four at the United Center which is very uncharacteristic of them over the last few years but thanks to two wins in three tries at the Scottrade Center they are very much alive in this series trailing 3-2 heading back home and as such they are decently favoured in this spot to send it back to St. Louis for a game seven. The Hawks are the defending champs for a reason and while they seem to have missed a step this year they still have the league’s best player in Patrick Kane and with so much playoff experience they know how to win hockey games when their backs are against the wall.

The Blues meanwhile let one slip through their finger tips after battling back with so much conviction in game five and now they have to go into Chicago and win their third road game of the series if they want to avoid a winner take all scenario on Monday. St. Louis has a very good team and demonstrated their depth after falling behind 3-1 in their third period but a Patrick Kane goal in double overtime proved to be the difference and that has momentum with the home side here who should be fired up to have another game in their building. The Blues are the better team this year in my opinion and I do see them taking this series but as many expected it will be in game seven on home ice and as such the Hawks get the win here to set up a thriller on Monday night.
