The Pittsburgh Penguins can advance to the conference finals for the second time in four years with a victory here. The Pittsburgh Penguins are averaging 2.9 goals per game and are scoring on 18.4 percent of their power plays. Patric Hornqvist leads Pittsburgh with five goals, Evgeni Malkin has six assists and Sidney Crosby has 23 shots on goal. Defensively, the Pittsburgh Penguins are allowing 2.4 goals per game and are killing 84.4 percent of their power play chances. Jeff Zatkoff has allowed six goals on 65 shots faced and Matt Murray has given up 16 goals on 252 shots. Murray has given up seven goals in his last three games.
The Penguins have gotten the best of the Capitals this season as they've won six of the 10 meetings overall. Pittsburgh is also one of the tougher teams to beat on its home ice, as game two against the New York Rangers was the only home playoff loss they've had at the Consol Energy Center. Of course, Washington is the better team overall and will make this game very tough. However, the Penguins just seem to have Washington's number and should be able to find a way at home in a close out game.
I'll take the Penguins here.
