The Pittsburgh Penguins look to stay hot at home as they welcome the New York Islanders to town on Thursday night.
The Islanders look to ride their strong offense to a road win against their Metro division rivals on Thursday night as they are a live road dog that is getting a ton of value against a Pens side that is riding high after getting Sidney Crosby back. The Isles are a playoff caliber team as we saw last season and are on track to get right back in the mix again this season but will be in tough in a very competitive Metropolitan division and they will have their work cut out for them to be in the race for a divisional crown. The Islanders will send Jaroslav Halak to the crease here as they are coming off a loss last night against the Montreal Canadiens with Thomas Greiss in the net as he will match up with Marc-Andre Fleury.

The Penguins meanwhile are right back on track to start the season as they celebrate their title defense and have their sights set on another and stand a very good chance of going on a deep run as they return a large part of their core. The Pens looked as though they could be in for a regression as Crosby was out for the first six games of the season but he did come back last night and registered a goal as they took down a very good Florida Panthers side. Pittsburgh has a very potent offense and will be out to hang a few goals early here against Halak who spent last night on the bench and should be on his game.
The Islanders are 0-6 in their last six against the Eastern Conference and 0-4 in their last four road games while the Pens are 13-3 in their last 16 Thursday games and 36-15 in their last 51 overall. Pittsburgh is a pretty heavy favourite but should have no issues getting the win and playing them in regulation will take a bit of the chalk away.
