NHL hockey action comes to the MTS Centre when the Dallas Stars visit the Winnipeg Jets.
The Dallas Stars finished their home stand with 3-2 victory versus the Winnipeg Jets thanks to some timely scoring and even better goaltending. Antti Niemi stopped a few breakaways on his way to a 28 stop performance that lifted the Stars to a 1-1-1 mark in their three game home stand. Dallas received goals from Brett Ritchie, Tyler Sequin and Patrick Eaves while Devin Shore added a pair of helpers. Joel Armia score for the Jets with five seconds remaining in the second while Mark Scheifele lit the lamp with just nine seconds remaining in regulation while Mark Hutchinson absorbed the loss.

The Winnipeg Jets will be looking for revenge when the Dallas Stars visit the MTS Centre to complete their home and home series where the Stars won 3-2 on their home ice. Winnipeg had their opportunities when Mark Scheifele didn’t cash in on a 2 on 1 break or when Alexander Burmistrov failed to convert on a breakaway. Mark Scheifele and Joel Armia provided the offense for the Jets but a 23 save effort from Mark Hutchison was nothing but a loss which was the Jets second straight and their 4th defeat in five contests. Winnipeg had faced a banged up Dallas squad and get another opportunity to take advantage of their injuries.
The Stars are 0-4 in their last 4 games playing on 1 days rest and the Stars are 0-7 in their last 7 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game while the over is 6-0-1 in Stars last 7 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game. The over is 7-1-2 in Jets last 10 Thursday games and the Jets are 5-1 in their last 6 when their opponent allows 2 goals or less in their previous game while the over is 4-1 in Jets last 5 when their opponent allows 2 goals or less in their previous game. The over is 10-1 in the last 11 meetings in Winnipeg and the Stars are 5-1 in the last 6 meetings while the over is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings.
The Stars and the over have generally been the play here but Dallas is not 100% so I’ll look at this further…
