The Nashville Predators continue their road trip on Tuesday night as they take on the Colorado Avalanche looking to snap out of their losing ways.
The Predators came into the season as one of the dark horse teams to win the Stanley Cup after making a move to acquire PK Subban in the offseason but so far they have looked like anything but a playoff team and are a disappointing 2-5-1 on the year. Meanwhile, the Montreal Canadiens, Subban’s former team and trade partner for former Preds captain Shea Weber is off to a red hot start with Weber being the main catalyst with his timely scoring and stifling defense. Nashville will look to snap out of it on the road against the Avalanche who are a sneaky good team that can compete with anyone in the league when they are firing. Nashville will likely send Pekka Rinne to the crease as he will match up against Semyon Varlamov.

The Avalanche meanwhile are 4-3 through their first seven games and are 1-1 on home ice but do have a couple of resume building wins to their name already including a road victory at the United Center against the Blackhawks. Colorado is led up front by Matt Duchene, Gabriel Landeskog, and Nathan Mackinnon and a handful of others in a supporting role including the ageless Jarome Iginla and if they can get continued production out of their goaltender I think this could be a surprise playoff team.
The Predators are 1-6 in their last seven overall and 1-4 in their last five against a team with a winning record while the Avs are 4-9 in their last 13 and 1-6 in their last seven home games. While I think Colorado is a very underrated team the Preds desperately need to start winning games and after getting blasted by the Ducks I think they will be ready to go in this one.
