The New York Rangers look to build on their massive win at home against the Lightning as they welcome the St. Louis Blues to town on Tuesday.
The Blues are off to a strong start this season as they are 5-2-1 through their first eight contests and look every bit as dangerous as many expected in the preseason and now they will be out to make a statement on the road against a very good New York Rangers team. The Blues have a very well balanced offense and one of the best blue lines in the league and if they can get continued production out of Jake Allen, who is now the clear cut number one goaltender for them, this team has the potential to go on a deep playoff run. The Blues are 2-2 on the road so far this season and are expected to send Allen to the crease here as he will face off against Henrik Lundqvist.

The Rangers are coming off that huge win at home against the Lightning and would have loved to get back on the ice right away but thanks to an idle schedule for everyone in the NHL on Monday they have to wait until Tuesday before they can try and add to their win total. New York is getting overlooked in some circles as other teams in the Metro division have emerged as divisional contenders but the Rangers continue to find ways to win and are starting to take on the identity of a team like the Red Wings who continue to make the playoffs year in and year out.
The Blues are 12-4 in their last 16 Tuesday games and 21-9 in their last 30 road games while the Rangers are 5-1 in their last six home games and 4-1 in their last five overall. There is a lot of value here on the road team but New York is a different animal at home and I think they ride on their big win Sunday in this one.
