The Vancouver Canucks look to snap out of their ugly seven game losing streak as they head into the ACC to face off with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Canucks have been in an awful tailspin the last couple of weeks as they have dropped seven games in a row after starting the season with a bang and things don’t get any easier as they take on a young Maple Leafs side that will be energized in front of their home fans. Vancouver was projected to be a fringe playoff team this season but right now they are looking like a lottery bet instead of a Pacific contender and with so much uncertainty in their lineup and a lack of offensive help beyond the Sedin’s I think this could be a very rough go for a franchise that had been among the best in the league throughout the late 2000’s. Vancouver is expected to start Ryan Miller here who has been excellent despite his poor record and he will face off against Frederik Andersen for the Buds.

The Maple Leafs meanwhile look to become the latest team to beat down the struggling Canucks as they are coming off a win against the Buffalo Sabres and while the crowd will be energized I think the Canucks know they are facing must win territory this early in the season and will be out to keep the Leafs fans at bay. Toronto is a very young team with sporadic pieces of veteran leadership but right now it seems to be working out fine as they are in the mix in the Atlantic division and are steps ahead of where many expected them to be to start this season. Toronto though is inexperienced and even though they’re at home I think they are getting way too much respect and the Canucks will take note.

The Canucks are 2-8 in their last 10 against a team with a losing record and 0-7 in their last seven overall while the Leafs are 4-0 in their last four against the Pacific and 1-5 in their last six following a win. The line is off here as Vancouver has a better overall roster than the Leafs and Miller deserves a win with his play so far and I think Vancouver gets it done.
