The Los Angeles Kings look to stay hot as they continue their Canadian road trip at the Bell Centre on Thursday night against the Montreal Canadiens.
The Kings were dealt a tough blow in the early stages of the season as they lost starting goalie Jonathan Quick to a lower body injury that is expected to sideline him for months, but they have responded nicely as Petr Budaj is enjoying a resurgence and looking like the answer in the interim. The Kings are coming off an absolute thrashing of the Maple Leafs at the Air Canada Centre on Tuesday night and will be out for an encore against a much different make up as the Canadiens are a stingy bunch in the defensive zone and have one of the league’s best goaltenders in Carey Price who has been remarkable since making his season debut.

The Canadiens meanwhile are looking to stay undefeated in regulation at home as they welcome in the Kings and they have responded nicely after their 10-0 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets last week. Montreal is expected to be in the running for the Eastern Conference crown as they have the roster in place to go on a serious playoff push and with their young forward becoming more steady contributors they are going to be a tough team to slow down, especially with the way Price has played so far.
The Kings are 5-1 in their last six Thursday games and 7-3 in their last 10 overall while the Canadiens are 7-0 in their last seven against a team with a winning record and 8-1 in their lasy nine following a win. With the way these two teams play and the goaltenders who are expected to start I think this is a very low scoring game that comes down to the wire that allows us to cash under the total.
