The Florida Panthers look for a statement victory as they head into the Bell Centre to face off against the East leading Montreal Canadiens.
The Cats face their stiffest test of the season as they head into Montreal to face off against Carey Price and the Montreal Canadiens in what will be a benchmark test for them to see how they will fare in the Atlantic division this season. Florida has a very solid roster and are coming off a playoff appearance last season and with a nice balance of youth and veteran leadership and a rock solid goaltending tandem this could be a very tough team to slow down when they go on a run. Roberto Luongo, a Montreal native, is expected to get the start here as he will face off against Carey Price in a show down of former Canadian Olympic teammates.

The Canadiens are off to a red hot start for the second straight season but this time around they have the parts in place to sustain that success as Price appears to be healthy and certainly live sup to his MVP hype when he’s in goal. Price has yet to lose this season and always gives his team a great chance to win, especially in front of the raucous Montreal faithful who come out in droves regardless of the opponent. However, the Habs may be in tough here against a Panthers side that has underachieved a bit to start the season but has Cup aspirations just as high as the Canadiens do.
Florida is 1-4 in their last five Tuesday games and 1-6 in their last seven road games while the Habs are 5-0 in their last five against the Atlantic and 12-2 in their last 14 against the East. All of the trends point to Montreal here but with Luongo playing in his home town I think he will certainly show up and hand the Habs their first home loss.
