The St. Louis Blues look to improve their disappointing road record as they head into the TD Garden to face off with the Boston Bruins on Tuesday night.
The Blues look for just their third victory of the season away from home and it’ll come in hostile territory as the Bruins are always a tough out on home ice, but the Blues are coming off a nice win against the Preds and will look for an encore in this one. St. Louis has aspirations of going on a deep playoff push but they play in a very competitive Central division and an even more rigid Western Conference so they are going to have to find ways to win games on the road as that can make the difference between getting in and not. Jake Allen is expected to get the nod here as he will face off against Tuukka Rask in a great goaltending battle.

The Bruins meanwhile look to stay red hot as they have won four of their last five games and are starting to look like a dark horse in the Eastern Conference and if they can keep up this level of play they should be in the mix to claim top spot in the Atlantic division. Boston doesn’t have a ton of flare in the offensive zone as they are a bit thin behind Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand but they have a ton of role players, a great blue line, and a goaltender who is on another level right now and Rask has been their MVP.
The Blues are 1-4 in their last five Tuesday games and 0-4 in their last four road games while the Bruins are 4-1 in their last five games playing on two day’s rest and 6-1 in their last seven when their opponent scores two goals or less in their last game. St. Louis is a good team and are deeper than Boston but the B’s are at home and have the better goalie so I am siding with them in this one.
