The Philadelphia Flyers head to the Sunshine State to take the ice with the Florida Panthers in an NHL Hockey tilt.
It doesn’t matter what sport we watch at any level, the winner has to score and the Philadelphia Flyers didn’t in a 3-0 loss to Tampa Bay at the Wells Fargo Center on Saturday afternoon. Despite the loss of star Steven Stamkos for at least four months, the Lightning had more then enough firepower to knock off the Flyers. Ondrej Palat, Tyler Johnson and Jonathan Drouin each scored for TB while Andrei Vasilevskiy recorded 32 stops for his second straight shutout to help his team win number four in a row and up their record to 12-6-1. Steve Mason allowed all three goals on 18 shots while Philadelphia also went 0-5 on the power play to fall to 8-8-3 overall.

The Florida Panthers held the high powered Rangers offense in check and then came away with a 3-2 victory in the shootout. Aleksander Barkov scored the game winner in the SO while Vincent Trochek also tallied against Henrik Lundqvist to escape the cold of the Big Apple with a win. Florida trailed 1-0 and 2-1 but received goals from Keith Yandle and Aaron Ekblad while James Reimer was outstanding in the nets with 35 saves including a pair during the shootout. The Rangers received goals from Chris Kreider and Mika Zibanejad while Lundqvist recorded 28 stops in defeat. The loss was extra costly for New York with Zibanejed breaking his leg that will keep him out for up to two months.
